FAQs

How does it actually work?
Seven carbon fiber panels in the walls, bench and floor heat your body directly rather than the air. The air stays around 130°F, so you can sit comfortably for a full 30 minutes. And it runs on a normal outlet.
How long does assembly take?
About an hour. It arrives flat-pack and is assembled on site.
How hot does it get?
Up to 140°F with no cold spots. Infrared heats your body directly, so you get a deep sweat without the stifling air. Let it fully warm up before you get in.
What comes in the box?
The full cabin, with the 7 heaters, chromotherapy lights, Bluetooth and USB built in. Plus a tempered glass door, backrest, oxygen ionizer, cup holders, towel knob and all the hardware. The Duet adds red light therapy and a magazine rack.
How does delivery work?
Free freight in 10 to 14 days, flat-pack. Freight delivery brings it to your property.
Do I need an electrician?
No. It plugs into a standard 110V outlet with no new wiring. Just give it an outlet of its own, the Duet included.
What is the warranty?
A lifetime warranty.
Can I pay monthly or with HSA / FSA?
Both. Affirm starts at $180.52 a month on the 1 Person and $225.64 on the 2 Person, subject to approval. It’s also HSA/FSA eligible with a Letter of Medical Necessity, and with Truemed’s average savings of 30%, that brings the 1 Person to about $1,399. Most FSA dollars expire at the end of the year, so it’s a great way to use them.

From packaging and labeling parts, this company nailed it. Somebody thought thru it all. Took little over an hour by myself to assemble. Couldn’t be more impressed.

What the research found

44%

less muscle soreness, 14 hours after training

Sixteen basketball players trained hard, then sat in an infrared sauna for twenty minutes. A week later the same players trained just as hard and rested instead. Fourteen hours on, the sauna group woke up almost half as sore.

Ahokas et al., Biology of Sport, 2023

63%

lower risk of sudden cardiac death

Finnish researchers followed 2,315 men for twenty years. The men who used a sauna four to seven times a week had a 63% lower risk of sudden cardiac death than the men who went once.

Laukkanen et al., JAMA Internal Medicine, 2015. Observational study, so an association rather than a proven cause.

66%

lower risk of a dementia diagnosis

The same men, the same twenty years. The four-to-seven-a-week group were 66% less likely to be diagnosed with dementia, and 65% less likely with Alzheimer’s.

Laukkanen et al., Age and Ageing, 2016. Observational study of men, so an association rather than a proven cause.

The benefits

Your body’s favorite thirty minutes.

Thirty minutes in the heat does more than make you sweat. Here is what owners actually use it for.

  • Muscle recovery

Train hard, then sweat. A session afterward may help ease next-morning soreness.

  • Stress relief

Leave the day at the door. Stream your music and take 30 quiet minutes.

  • Sleep support

Trade the late-night scroll for thirty warm, quiet minutes that ease you toward bed.

  • Joint comfort

Far infrared warms you directly, not just the room, so stiff joints can relax into the heat.

  • Skin glow

A deep sweat at up to 140°F leaves skin looking fresh and feeling soft.

MORE WAYS TO PAY

Pay less, or pay over time.

Rather not cover it all at once? Split it into monthly payments with Affirm, or save by paying with pre-tax HSA/FSA dollars.

Pre-tax dollars

On the Standard. The Duet works out at $225.64 a month.

Through Affirm, subject to approval. No prepayment penalty.

How the pre-tax route works

  1. Find out what’s in your account

FSA dollars don’t roll over, so use them before December 31.

  2. Get a Letter of Medical Necessity

A short online health review, usually done the same day. The letter makes the purchase eligible.

  3. Pay with your HSA or FSA card

Same cabin, same price, paid with money that was never taxed. Just keep the letter on file.

FAQ

Grouped by topic, so you can jump straight to what you need.

Will it fit

How much floor space does it actually need?
The Standard is 35.5 × 35.4 in, about three feet square. The Duet is 47.2 × 41.3 in. Add four to five inches of clearance on every side for the real footprint.
What ceiling height do I need?
The Standard stands 74.6 in and the Duet 74.8 in, both just over 6 ft 2 in. The power cord exits through the roof, so leave the top clear too. Allow about 6 ft 8 in in total, which an average 7 ft ceiling still clears.
Will it fit through my doorway?
It never has to. The cabin arrives flat and the panels lock together in the room where it will live, so the only measurement that matters is floor space.
I am tall or broad. Is the one person cabin big enough?
Owners call the Standard right-sized for one, with plenty of room to sit back and relax. If you’d like space to stretch out or share, the Duet is close to a foot wider.
What kind of floor can it sit on?
Any dry, level, indoor floor. Owners have it on tile, wood and finished basement floors.
Can I put it upstairs?
It’s lighter than you might think. The Standard weighs 209 lb and the Duet 282 lb, spread across the whole footprint. If you have an older floor, a quick check with a builder will give you peace of mind.

Delivery and putting it together

How does it arrive, and how long does it take?
Free freight delivery in 10 to 14 days, flat-packed and brought to your door.
How long does assembly take?
About an hour with two adults. Many owners report doing it faster, and one 80-year-old customer assembled his on his own, but plan for two people.
What tools do I need?
A #2 Phillips screwdriver or a drill, a large level, and a step ladder at least 5 ft tall. Nothing unusual.
Can I do it by myself?
Plan on two adults. The instructions are written for two.
What should I check when it arrives?
Take a quick look at everything before you start building. If anything’s not right, let us know and we’ll take care of it.
Something arrived damaged or missing. What now?
Call or text 1 (800) 563-6604, or email [email protected] with a photo and your order number, and we’ll make it right. Hold off on that piece until we do.

Power and what it costs to run

Do I need an electrician?
No. It plugs into a standard 110V outlet with the included 9-foot cord. You don’t need any new wiring.
Does it need its own outlet?
Yes. Use a dedicated three-prong outlet with nothing else plugged in. Don’t use extension cords or power strips.
What does a session cost to run?
About 13¢ for 30 minutes on the Standard and about 16¢ on the Duet, at the average US electricity rate.
Will it trip my breaker?
Not on its own circuit. Give it a dedicated circuit and it runs without a hitch.
Is it expensive to leave plugged in?
Not at all. It only uses meaningful power while it’s heating, and the built-in timer switches it off for you after anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes.

Using it

How long does it take to heat up?
About 8 to 15 minutes. A cold room can take longer, so start it early and it’ll be ready when you are.
How hot does it actually get?
The Standard is rated 68 to 140°F and the Duet 86 to 140°F. In normal use it settles near the top of that range and cycles around it. Infrared warms you directly, not just the air, so it feels hotter than the thermometer reads.
How long should a session be, and how often?
30 minutes is a typical session. The timer runs from 1 to 60 minutes and remembers your last setting. Most owners settle into 3 or 4 sessions a week.
What do I wear?
As little as you’re comfortable in. Just leave jewelry, belts, zippers and snaps outside so nothing metal heats up on you.
Can I read or use my phone in there?
Owners do. There’s a reading light, and one Duet owner calls it his reading room. The sauna shows up in Bluetooth as LIFEPRO, and the USB port plays MP3 files.
What is the oxygen ionizer for?
It freshens the air between sessions. It runs a 15-minute ozone cycle, then about an hour of negative ions on its own. It also holds a lemon fragrance pad.

Health and safety

Who should not use it?
Skip it if you: are pregnant, may be pregnant, recently gave birth or are breastfeeding; have a pacemaker, defibrillator or other heart implant; have a fever, nausea or headache, feel sick, are dehydrated or hungover; have an infection, an open wound or a severe burn; or have an eye condition. Also skip it within 24 hours of drinking alcohol.
Should I check with my doctor first?
Yes, if you: are under a doctor’s care for an existing condition; are over 60; take prescription medications; have a medical implant; or have diabetes, poor circulation, peripheral neuropathy, reduced sensitivity to heat, heart or vascular disease, arrhythmia, abnormal blood pressure, severe aortic stenosis, a recent heart attack, obesity or mobility issues.
Can children use it?
Check with your pediatrician first. Keep children away during assembly, since there are small parts.
What about EMF?
Both cabins also come in a Low EMF build measured at 0.02 microtesla. It is otherwise the same cabin: same hemlock, same seven panels. $2,399.99 for one person and $2,799.99 for two.
Do I need to drink more water?
Yes. Drink at least 16 ounces before you go in, and keep sipping during and after your session.

The cabin itself

What is it made of?
Solid Canadian Hemlock with a 6 mm tempered glass door. Hemlock is a sauna favorite because it holds its shape through years of heat and has almost no resin or scent, so all you notice is the warmth.
How does infrared heat actually work?
Seven carbon fiber panels set into the walls, bench and floor emit far infrared at 5.6 to 15 microns. That warms your body directly across a distance rather than heating the air first, which is why the air can sit near 130°F and still produce a heavy sweat.
Is it seven panels on both cabins?
Yes. Both the Standard and the Duet use seven carbon fiber panels.
What does the chromotherapy do?
It sets the mood with color, from red at 620 to 630 nm through violet at 400 to 455 nm. Use it with the heat or on its own, so the cabin doubles as a calm, softly lit space on nights you’d rather not sweat. The Standard has 7 colors. The Duet has 9 modes, including a rotating mode and an all-colors mode.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the wood down after each use and dry it with a soft cotton towel. Skip cleansers, since the wood can absorb them. Don’t put on oils, balms or creams before a session.
Is it certified?
The Standard carries ETL, CE and RoHS. The Duet adds ISO, SAA and LVD.

Money, warranty and returns

What is the warranty?
A lifetime warranty.
Can I use HSA or FSA dollars?
Yes, it’s HSA/FSA eligible with a Letter of Medical Necessity. With Truemed’s average savings of 30%, that brings the Standard to about $1,399. Most FSA dollars expire at the end of the year, so it’s a great way to use them before they’re gone.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. Affirm starts at about $180.52 a month on the Standard and $225.64 on the Duet, subject to approval.
What if it is not right for me?
Unopened units come back inside 30 days. Once a cabin is built, the lifetime warranty takes over and we replace parts rather than asking you to crate the whole thing up.
Which one should I buy?
It mostly comes down to who’s using it. Choose the Standard at $1,999.99 if the sauna is just for you, or the Duet at $2,499.99 if you want room to share or stretch out. Both have seven carbon fiber panels, heat up to 140°F and plug into a standard outlet. The Duet also adds red light mode, 9 chromotherapy modes and a magazine rack.
