"I purchased the AllevaRed Light Therapy Belt for my lower back, upper back and shoulders. It helps with pain from strains and overuse, and it has reduced inflammation much more than a regular heating pad. I also use it on my abdomen to improve the appearance of my skin after weight loss. It’s a slow process, but I see a noticeable difference in stretch marks and skin laxity (I had twins 36 years ago!). A little confused. This says it’s portable but there’s no battery pack. I’ve looked and don’t see anywhere that it comes with the battery so I’m guessing that’s an additional purchase?..
Hi Sonia, The unit comes with a USB power cable and a wall adapter for standard plug-in use. The belt is considered portable because you can plug the USB cord directly into a 12V portable power bank (purchased separately or one you may already own) with sufficient power output, allowing you to move around freely during your session!
What is the irradiance on this product? Is the neoprene made of medical grade or food grade materials? What specific certifications and clearances does this product have? Can it be used on face using safety goggles? How does it compare in these respects to your other right light therapy belts? Thanks!

The unit's neoprene is professional grade, certified by UL, RoHS, FCC and the FDA, but please keep in mind that this is not a medical device. We do not recommend using it on your face as we have other models specifically designed to stimulate your face with red light therapy such as our RevitaGlow™ Red Light Face Mask! The red lights go out when put it on the 850 setting ,
It is completely normal for you to stop seeing the lights of your unit light up while on the 850 nm setting as your device uses Near-Infrared (NIR) light, which is largely invisible to the human eye. Because of this, the lights on your belt may appear barely visible. This id due to how our eyes perceive visible versus near-infrared wavelengths of light!
