Getting Fit Where You Sit

Getting Fit Where You Sit

As I sit here to begin this article, I feel the tension in my left glute and slight pain starting in the top of my hamstring. I have now been sitting at my desk for almost 3 hours. What a fitting blog topic right? I have written similar articles in the past, but we need to be reminded, we all fall back into our easy habits.
Like many of you I spend way too many hours in front of a screen and often pay the price in the form of pain and tension, swelling in my legs, poor sleep, and other signs that I need to get moving, be less stagnant. Over the course of months or years being so stationary can potentially contribute to a variety of health issues. Reality is that often our work and lifestyle require us to spend time seated.
Pay attention to the aches and pains that start to surface. We’ve all seen the tips, stand up and do a few stretches, go for a walk at lunch. Sure there are ways once we get up from the desk but what about while we are at it? Get things moving while you can’t be moving do you know what I mean?
